Having successfully recovered from addiction and trauma in the winter of 2000, Michael began to take steps to get the training needed to become one of the nation's preeminent interventionists focusing on dysfunctional family systems work, chemical dependency, and clients experiencing psychiatric disorder crisis. Michael attended Loyola Marymount University's Alcohol and Drug counseling program and is finishing a two year program training under the watchful eye of Dr. Allen Berger (PsyD), at The Institute for Effective Psychotherapy. Dr. Berger is a well-known Gestalt therapist and best-selling author.

Michael is also a Certified Life Coach. As a coach, he has enhanced the focus of his work on chemical dependency and behavioral disorders to include the crucial life building skills and self-discovery needed to initiate a new start for those beginning recovery.

Michael is a former professional chef, expert-level snowboarder and mountaineer. In his rare downtime, he can be found in the mountains of California and international destinations searching for deep snow.
“Having conducted hundreds of interventions over my career, I've seen and heard it all. As a result, I have formulated myriad successful solutions to sudden and challenging circumstances. More importantly, my experience gives me deep familiarity with the addict's underlying motives and behavioral tendencies, which inform my powerful ability to negotiate and convince where others fail. I know force and coercion are never good first steps into recovery—compassion, care, and firmness build the foundation for successful recovery."
